Second Year Exam

1. How many bones does the human body have at the age of 6? At age 30?

2. Explain the importance of the production of blood cells and endocrine regulation. How does the axial skeleton differ from the appendicular skeleton?

3. You're skipping through the woods for on a summer day, not a care in the world. You're singing to yourself so you're not really paying attention. Suddenly you feel something sting your arm. You stop to look around, but see nothing. Then you receive another sting, this time on the back of your neck and then another on your left leg. The stings hurt. You start to feel a bit sick and woozy. Finally you see a blue colored creature zooming away on fairy-like wings. You realize what happened. What now?

4. It's the Quidditch finals! [insert House here] versus [insert House here] and you are playing Seeker. Your team is thirty points behind. But you see the snitch! The other team Seeker doesn't seem to have spotted it yet. You don't want to draw attention yourself so you approach it slowly as it hovers in the middle of the field. As you get closer, the snitch jets downward. You have no choice...you have to chase after it. Faster and faster you go. You hand is outstretched...closer...Yes! You catch it! But oh no, the other team aimed a bludger at you before you caught it and it hit you in the side, knocking you off your broom. As you fall about ten feet, you land with a crash, breaking an arm and a leg in the process. A mediwizard comes over and does what?

5. What are the symptoms of Dragon Pox and who discovered the cure? Name some people who have died of this disease.

6. Name two fatal poisons and two non-fatal poisons. Describe what they do.

7. Vulnera Sanentur seems to be reserved for more dire circumstances. Tell me when you think you would absolutely have to use it on a wound.
