Year 40

NEWT Class

 

 

It IS good to see you here! I bet you are excited to be doing NEWTS whether you are taking two years or more to complete them. As you are aware, at this stage we expect that extra effort in your work. I know the class list and I have no doubts you are going to provide that in your work! Please, just remember to enjoy it as well :)

So…. what is the work I have for you, read on!

You may or may not know that there has been some super secret trials on Magical Cars, in the places students are not supposed to be without supervision. We know that some students are over inquisitive at times and... well..... run into a spot of bother! This has occurred! What a disaster, I shall tell you what happened and I need YOU to deal with this matter.

 

These trials were being held in the Forest of Dean, no, don't worry about how you will get there, I shall use side along Apparition if needed. Once there, you are going to find a terrible site, Magical Cars crashed, students injured and the area of natural habitat in tatters. You are going to have to assess this situation and deal with it and patients and wildlife and habitat! You will be provided with a medicine chest with all that you need. Don't forget your wand and please wear appropriate clothing. Also, have a good hard think and let me know what other equipment you will take with you.

 

As you arrive, you notice the damage and take two or three gulps of fresh air, well, smelly, smokey air to be honest!

 

You find two cars smashed together in a 30 foot high tree. One mechanic Mickey Moosejaw (who, no doubt will be interviewed by MLE eventually) is hanging by the tips of his fingers out of an open car door, screaming like a banshee. I am pretty positive there is at the very least, a case of shock and panic with him. The other car has Betty Blossom, unconscious with blood pouring from her head and nose. The problem is ...how are you going to get her out of there, she is bound to have more injuries, I'm sure? I hope you find a way, pretty soon!

 

On the ground is another car, doors open, two young men, I do believe they are Muggles! One of them, Terry Trainer is sobbing with pain because he has a leg missing, I'm afraid you may have to use some Magic to find it. The other is Ewan Earwag who has always been deeply depressed by his name and now the fact that he appears to have a broken nose, arm and ribs and a very nasty gash on his face, poor Ewan will be suffering a great deal more depression!

 

Only four patients? Don't be mislead. There are a couple of injured bunnies with what seem to be perhaps broken legs and some small cuts, laying by an old tree stump, you are not going to leave those out are you? Poor things. And then, of course....what are you going to do about the Muggles and their injuries.? I know they must have been brought along by Mickey, who will be in serious trouble for that! He is normally a pretty good guy. I wonder if he has been jinxed in some way to make him do something so silly?

 

You have quite a task ahead of you. This accident has occurred in a forest, yes! But a forest where Muggles visit frequently. Who will you require help from? Did you bring any alternative medicines with you? Can you use any non magical treatments? What about the bunnies? 

 

So many questions, so much to do! Good luck. Oh..... watch out for the Crup that Betty brought along with her. It is around here somewhere. Use whatever means you think you should to care for everyone (and the bunnies). If you think Muggle alternative methods would be good, you are allowed to use them, but let me know what happens.
