Owl Class

 

Welcome, welcome! I am so pleased to see you here, ready to take your OWL for Magical Healing. I hope you have remembered your Lessons, you are going to need them. Let’s just get the technical stuff out of the way. As this is your OWL year, I do expect that extra effort in content, grammar and spelling. This all adds up to extra marks and house points. You need to make sure that both of yours Tasks are submitted to the Owlery, in the correct topic by the end of .......WEEK EIGHT

 

Of course, you can submit any time prior to the deadline as well. Indeed, I would love to see Task One submitted by the Interim!

 

 

If any of the tasks are causing you concern or problems, please PM me. I do not want you struggling and then hurrying at the end of the year. I am here to help! Got it? Good. Let’s move on.  

 

 

TASK ONE

 

I believe most of you will have either worked in myHogwarts Hospital Wing or indeed, spent some time there. Or both. You know how excellent it is, the Staff, the equipment, beds and store cupboard. Now, let’s imagine that myHowgwarts does NOT have a Hospital Wing. I want you to use your imagination and creativity in creating one. A description is, of course,  important, but you may use  an image or  a drawing to go with it if you wish. Think about the number of beds that may be needed, equipment and stores. Perhaps even things to make a patients stay more comfortable, or  something nice for the Staff…….The choices are yours.

 

Now don’t forget, this is NOT St. Mungo’s, it is a Hospital Wing for the Castle you are thinking about.

 

I expect at  least three substantial Paragraphs.

TASK TWO

​

A trip into the Forbidden Forest?? Oh they should have known better! Why oh why do Students do this? Unsupervised and usually not adept enough to look after themselves!

 

Four such Students did just this... as you can see as they stumble out of the Forest just in front of you. You are going to have to assess, treat, heal or perhaps send them on their way to the Hospital Wing. You have to decide your course of action. Whether your patients can be treated at the scene or whether you are going to have to carry out more intensive care for them.

 

Don't run off, it is not going to be that bad for you, after all, you have got this far in your Magical Healing educatation. So, off you go and  take a good look at the scene, prioritise and deal with the injuries and the insults of the patients! 

 

You find two Students, one helping the other to walk toward you.

 

Celia Crackersharp is leaning heavily on to Jackie Jestfullsome who is doing her best to support her. Both girls are bleeding quite heavily and Celia definitely has a very odd shaped arm, in fact.... yuk! Is that a bit of bone I see poking through the skin there? *shudders* yes, yes, that is where a lot of Celia's blood is coming from and oh yes, Celia has a rather large bump on her head, but blood is gushing from a wound on her leg, good for you, Jackie, you managed to get to safe ground!

 

Jackie is crying, quite a lot, with a lot of shaking and she looks very very pale. I wonder what she saw there in the Forest? Whatever it was (and she may tell you) she also has burns on her hands. Now was she trying to put out a camp fire? Or...... is there something none of us know about in the Forbidden Forest?

 

Brian Bloodletter is almost swaggering out, but don't be fooled! He seems to be under some form of Curse, the faraway look in his eyes hints to me of ...... well, you decide! He also has a bloody nose and it does seem to be rather.... lumpy! Otherwise, he does not seem too badly hurt? 

 

....then finally, can this possibly be a First Year? Sean Tootles comes out throwing up all over the place, what could be wrong with him, has he been poisoned? Has he been cursed? Did he have a ride on a Unicorn? Whatever you find out about him, please stop him giggling like a crazy monkey, yup, some form of poison here I believe and stop him scratching that strange patch of dry skin, wonder what that could be about??

 

Now please tell me how it all went! You are able to be creative if you wish, just so long as your healing skills are the main part!

 

Submit your essay to the Owlery in the correct topic.

These are your Owl tasks, please put as much into them as you can. Please be concise in your work and give me a good paragraph for each patient and your summary of events. I would like a minimum of 1500 words in total for each of the two tasks. :)
